This interview with Gerrit Coetzee in 2006 is one of the first interviews completed for the Journeys oral history project in South Africa. Gerrit was generous with his time and honesty as he reflected on his experiences growing up as a white child in a country divided by Apartheid laws and racial bias. Gerrit is an educator and leader in the field of race relations today, making an effort daily to build understanding and contribute to the progress of reconciliation.
